SSH on Nexus 7000 doesn't work

I tried to connect to my Nexus 7k using ssh (which works), but I only want the connection to work with an explicit key.

This is my config:

ssh key rsa 4096

feature ssh

username admin sshkey SSH_KEY

But now I can still ssh to my Nexus from every device, why does this work.

  • You can configure your device for either SSH authentication using an X.509 certificate or SSH authentication using a public key certificate but not both. If either of them is configured and the authentication fails, you are prompted for a password.

follow below guide :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus7000/sw/security/config/cisco_nexus7000_security_config_guide_8x/configuring_ssh_and_telnet.html#task_FDDAEC3D6026416A89D4F37334FFC574

check the logs if all are configured correctly on the switch.
