Daer All,
i run a Stack of 4 2960S-24PC-L on IOS 12.2(58)SE2. We changed some stuff, Stackmember 3+4 are not longer needed and i unmount them.
Now i like to use them somewhere else and updated the IOS first to 15.0(2)SE11, then to 15.2(2)E9. Stack is not working with these IOS,
Message:
Unsupported FlexStack module inserted in Switch 0. C2960S-F-STACK
downgrade again to 12.2(58): everything fine.
Message:
Switch 1 is READY
Product Switch: WS-C2960S-24TS-L V04
Stack: C2960S-F-STACK V01
Any Ideas?

Hi,
As mentioned in this thread: https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/ws-c2960s-48fps-l-stack-port-down/td-p/2160299
Perhaps you should try to reseat stacking modules and cables. I understand that it works on version 12.2(58), but still it may be a periodical issue. I would also try and break the stack and see if the error message appears on both switches. Also I would try to erase all configuration, including vlan.dat etc. and attempt the upgrade again when not in stack.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your reply and the link... Slaping Stackmodules, strange kind of fetish...
there is no difference doing the Update with plugged or unplugged Stack modules or -cables. The message is still the same.

are you getting the unsupported module message in 15.0.2-se11, or in 15.2.2-e9? Last year I took a bunch of 2960S stacks directly from 12.2.53 (or 12.2.58) directly to 15.2.2-e8 and I did not have a problem at all with any of them. If you're going to 15.0.2-se11 and you're seeing that message, did you or can you try going directly to 15.2.2-e9?

Hi,
the message is displayed in both 15.x versions. Stackports stay down. Just 12.2 works.
Of course, i'm able to test the direct update to 15.2, gimme 30minutes...
