Hi,
I have a basic question regarding the StackWise Virtual domain. I read the whitepaper below
and found that "Cisco requires that you use unique virtual switch domain ID for each pair of SVL switches" but I did not see any explanation why we should do that.
I used to work with VSS technology and understand that the VSS domain ID is encoded in the virtual MAC and therefore if we connect 2 VSS domain with the same ID, we will have a problem.
Does Stackwise Virtual work the same way?
Thanks.

Threre is one cisco Live presentation i can not recall the document name, i will post once i find it.
Virtual Stackwise extension of VSS. it broadcasts the domain ID out which can cause issues with duplicate domains - when you join 2 SVL with same domain ID, this has more difficulties to diagnosis the issue when you have Layer 2 issues.
cisco always suggest to to have unique from 1-255 any number.
