When i have configured the 4507R switch but the configure is not sync with the standby module..... I have doing some troubleshooting
1. type the command "show redundancy"
no standby module is showing
2. type the command " redundancy force-switchover"
showing the message " no standby module is present"
3. type the command "hw-module module 2 reset"
then the standby module is reset and status light is blinking like it is booting..
show can u suggest me what is the exact issue ?
Thanks

1. Is the primary active supervisor properly recognizing the standby module? "show module" should tell you that.
2. Is redundancy enabled in the configuration? "redundancy: plus "mode sso" global command. Also refer to the IOS configuration guide section for more details. Here is a link to the page with guides for the various Catalyst 4500 IOS releases:
3. What image is installed on module 2 - same as on module 1? When you reset module 2 what messages appear on directly connected console into that module?

Well since the "show module" is not reporting the detailed information and the console remains blank upon reset, I'd say you most likely have a failed hardware module.
If you have Smartnet, the TAC can replace it. Otherwise yoiu will have to purchase a new (or used) one.

Question,
I attempted to install the secondary supervisor module on Cisco 4507 using Supervisor Module 7L-E brand new. The customer doesn't have any spare chassis to allow the module to be updated with the correction image. My concerns are whenever I install this module the Layer 2 ports in the active supervisor automatically shutdown. Is there anyway I can insert this module, update the image without interrupting communications with the customer.
