Hi all,
I want to set static MAC addresses between my two catalyst switches 9200:
SW-1 SW-2
g1/0/10 <-------trunk------- >g1/0/20
Because this is trunk port and it caries VLANs 10,20,30,35,40 should I configure 5 lines?
mac address-table static 1111.1111.1111 vlan 10 interface g1/0/20
mac address-table static 1111.1111.1111 vlan 20 interface g1/0/20
mac address-table static 1111.1111.1111 vlan 30 interface g1/0/20
mac address-table static 1111.1111.1111 vlan 35 interface g1/0/20
mac address-table static 1111.1111.1111 vlan 40 interface g1/0/20
If I had more VLANs, I would need to have one line per VLAN? There is no some kind of vlan range command or something like that?
Thanks

I'm having some issue with this link. Packets are getting dropped. I noticed that for some reason MAC addresses are not learned on SW-2 (I usually clear this issue with shut/no shut on one side), and I would like to try and fix it with static MAC.

Hi,
It is hard to tell without knowing more about the issue you are seeing. This could be an IOS bug or possibly an issue with a device connecting to the network. Can you provide more details?
Thanks,
Reza
