Stop forwarding when another link goes down

HI,

I have a question

The scenario is below

1. there is two link from location A to B , one via satellite link and other via GSM (dmvpn via internet). Satellite link is carrying critical business application.  GSM is for CCTV.  whenever satellite link is down , the router is configured so that business traffic is shifted to GSM.  but as GSM is internet , QoS is not effecting as intermediate routers in internet has no QoS.

What i notice is that whenever Satellite link is down. business traffic shifted to GSM link and GSM link now carrying both CCTV and business. but during this time delay is higher on GSM link when it is actively forwading CCTV traffic , so business traffic get affected.

nomrally without CCTV , GSM delay is 60ms. but with CCTV it is 300-500ms. What is the reason behind ?

also how can we stop CCTV traffic to be forwarded via GSM when satellite link is down , so that only business traffic flows thru GSM ? is it possible in cisco router ?

Thanks

Shajil

Hello Shajil

i think you can achieve this using PBR (Policy Based Routing). Please refer to the below post:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/32186/dual-internet-links-nating-pbr-and-ip-sla

with a little tweek in the configuration, you can achieve what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
