Hi Guys,
I am bit confuse with storm control support on Nexus 5K NXOS 6.x. I have notices the storm control is only available only on port channel interface.
However, in earlier version 5.x it can be enable on physical interface level as well.
I was just wondering why its not available on physical interface level, and what if i have single access port connected to N5K.
Thanks and appreciate your time.
Regards,
Asad Hasan

HI Asad,
Its supported on physical interface. Which release you are facing this problem ?
Are u getting any error message when u configure in physical interface ?
Eg configs:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 1/4
switch(config-if)# storm-control broadcast level 40
switch(config-if)# storm-control multicast level 40
switch(config-if)# storm-control unicast level 40
Thanks,
Muthu.

Hi Muthu,
Thanks for your reply. I am bit confused with this explanation in documentation.
I am referring to NXOS 6.x layer 2 switch configuration guide.
When configuring the traffic storm control level, follow these guidelines and limitations:
You can configure traffic storm control on a port-channel interface.
I haven't tried on actual interface but will defenetly tried on physical interface as well.

Asad

Hi Asad,
They have mentioned " you can also configure under the port-channel". It doesn't mean you can't configured under physical interface. Its is supported. Please let me know if your facing any problem.
Thanks,
Muthu.
