Hello there.
I need to be able to block POWERLINK broadcasts on a WS-C2960G-8TC-L Switch (Firmware: 12.2(55)SE4).
As those packets are "broadcasts" (at least WireShark shows them up as POWERLINK packets with destination "broadcast"), I thought I could stop them from doing harm to the rest of the VLAN by using "storm-control broadcast level 10 pps" (with action "shutdown")... This didn't help, although the device which had been (erroneously) connected to the switch spits out about 2300 packets per second.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
F.

Hello Flavio,
What is the destination MAC of those packets?

Hello Fabienne,
I got 2 different destination MAC addresses sniffed:
01:11:1e:00:00:01 (EPLv2_SoC)
01:11:1e:00:00:03 (EPLv2_SoA)
Any help will be appreciated.
TIA,
F.
