STP on routers

I connect 3 routers to each other with serial links for redundancy....

After configured ospf...i see that all serial link's ports are up/up state..

As far as I know, STP block any one of the port for prevent loops

Are you serious? STP on routers especially on serial links?

Please LEARN THE THEORY at first

STP required only Layer 2 domain to protect the loops, Router is Layer 3 domain, so there are no Loops it work as Point to Point interface.

post the configuration and provide the device mode to understand the issue.

Hello Aniketdey9804@gmail.com ,

STP applies only to ethernet interfaces in a flat switched network. Here you have three routers connected with serial point to point links.

Actually, even if you change the serial interfaces to LAN interfaces you will see all them up/up because each of them is in a different broadcast domain ( like it was a different VLAN)

Besides this STP is not executed by routers on L3 interfaces.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
