Hi There is an issue when taking of snmp. Due to security vulnerability issue, we need to disable snmp temporarily or set snmp v3. but its a very strange when we do it. We can add the command and modify snmp, but cannot delete it. Anyone can share some experience for this? The below is this command. Thank you.
snmp-server sysname "ABC"

Hi,
So, " no snmp-server sysname "ABC"
does not work?
What is the error message? And what platform and IOS are you using?

Thank you very much for your reply!
The command cannot work. When using it, the error shows up:
#no snmp-server sysname "ABC"
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
There is "^" under "sysname"

There is no option for sysname.
try
no snmp-server host abc

I added the command you mentioned. but it show "Command not found / Incomplete command. Use ? to list commands."
The switch is Quanta switch LB9
The below is its link for its config. but it does not show this command "snmp-server sysname "ABC" , I can change "ABC", but cannot delete the whole command.

When you post here, we assume you are using a Cisco switch, router, etc. This is a Quanta switch, and the commands may not be the same as a Cisco switch. I recommend you open a ticket with the vendor and ask them how to change that. The link you posted has this command with IP address but not host name.
(Switch) (Config)#snmp-server host 172.16.1.100 traps version 1 testRO

Try this
(Switch) (Config)#snmp-server host abc traps version 3

Thanks MHM
We do not have to delete that command, but at lease we need to make sure snmp version is 3 not 1 or 2. Please see the below. I am thinking what info we can get from the below info
(Config)#snmp-server host ABC traps version ?
1 Use SNMP v1 to send traps.
2 Use SNMP v2 to send traps.
(Config)#snmp-server group XYZ ?
v1 SNMP version 1 security model.
v2 SNMP version 2 security model.
v3 SNMP version 3 security model.
