Dear all,

we have a huge network, which contains only Cisco equipment (2 core switches / 3850-48 and 40 cisco 2960 / 3750 distribution switches, 2x 5550 ASA and over 120 Vlans ).

Main link is 1Gb up/down.

We have the following issue:

Some of our clients reported that when they try to watch videos online e.g. youtube, from social media, even videos from inside the network, the media works but starts to buffer for couple of secunds and the works then buffering and so on.

The only "method to avoid this is downloading the media and run it locally from the laptops (during conferences).

We have this issue even when clients run PP presentation with videos in, running, buffering,...,...

Any idea whats going on?

Appreciate any help.

Many thanks

Insufficient information to really say. It's possible some interfaces experience transient congestion, and if you're not using any QoS, your streaming data is being impacted. It's also possible on small Cisco L3 and L2 switches (i.e. your 3Ks and 2Ks), if there is congestion, you might be running out of interface buffers too (as those Catalyst switches often do, especially if not "tuned").
