Is there another way to reset the switch from ROMMON mode as when I try boot flash:packages.conf it just comes back with

switch: boot flash:packages.conf
loading flash:packages.conf
Reading full image into memory....done
LE hdr->offset=0x800f6888
BE hdr->offset=0x800f6888
MAGIC: 0x330a210a
kernel_image[0]=
kernel_image[1]=!
kernel_image[2]=

kernel_image[3]=!
package_len=13917, offset=839544431, iso_size=-839530514
Image validated
octeon_loadlinux: bad ELF image
Error loading kernel image
usage: boot [<filename>] [<cmdline>]

any help welcome!!

I was expecting to see a .bin file but probably as you are using "install mode "` the option would be the .conf file.

What you can do is use an USB driver and boot from there, as per you IOS seems to be not ok. Or you can use a TFTP server and put the new IOS there.

Hi @connorotterbeck

 Try to list the file in the flash: and take the exactly IOS file name. Then, run the command boot with the IOS file name.

Thank you so much for the quick response!

When I tried that it came up with this:

switch: boot flash:cat3k_caa-base.SPA.03.03.04SE.pkg
loading flash:cat3k_caa-base.SPA.03.03.04SE.pkg
Reading full image into memory...............................................................................done
LE hdr->offset=0x800f6888
BE hdr->offset=0x800f6888
MAGIC: 0x11
kernel_image[0]=
kernel_image[1]=I
kernel_image[2]=O
kernel_image[3]=S
package_len=79110340, offset=1630364257, iso_size=-1551253917
Image validated
octeon_loadlinux: bad ELF image
Error loading kernel image
usage: boot [<filename>] [<cmdline>]

Do you happen to know how to sort this?

List the flash: again and put the output here. You got the wrong file.

cat3k_caa-base.SPA.03.03.04SE.pkg

this is the flash directory

switch: dir flash:
Directory of flash:/
