Hello,

Two switches are in VSS(6500's), & the standby needs to be undergo maintenance for link issues on its SUP2T connections.
Will removing uplinks (worst case remove the sup) cause issues with primary's active operation?

it may cause the vsl link to be down, will that also cause issues? What is the best way to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As long as VSS is configured correctly and verified, bringing down the stand-by switch, removing its sup or uplinks will not have any effect on the active device as the active switch is already managing the chassis.  The same for VSL link. Of course, this type of change should be done in maintenance window in case something goes wrong.
