Friends,
I would like to know if there is known issue for supervisor replacement in CatOS.
IF we have faulty sup on slot 1, in order to replace it, do we have to take (standby) sup from slot2 and put it in slot1?
and place new RMA'd sup into slot2?
I was told that it will cause outage if we slot new RMA sup into slot1 eventhough we hardcoded slot2 to be active/primary.
Anyone aware of this bug or fault in CatOS, or probably a hoax?
I couldnt find any Cisco material that support this issue, hence this discussion.
Appreciate your response. TQ.

Have never heard that and it would defeat the purpose of having redundant supervisors .

Yeah, you are right.
No point having 2 sup if we have to shut down entire chassis to to sup replacement.
