Hi Community,
A little help on this one.
Have a 4507 with redundant supervisors.
Everytime the 4507 reboots, the supervisors boot in rommon.
It says cannot find the boot image.
If I type boot in rommon, then both supervisors boot fine and everything works.
System image file is "bootflash:cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin"
I thought I just need this:
boot system flash cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin
But again, after booting I enter rommon with this error:
config-register = 0x2102
Autobooting using BOOT variable specified file.....
Current BOOT file is --- cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin
Invalid filename cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin. It must begin with device n
ame.
When I try to specify the boot image I get this:
4507(config)#boot system flash ?
WORD System image filename
<cr>
I put the filename cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin but no joy.
Both supervisors are redundant in SSO mode.
Thank you!
Federico.

Federico,
You have to specify the file location in your boot string. Try using this instead:
boot system flash bootflash:cat4500e-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG2.bin

Mark,
Thank you for your response but I just tried that and same thing....
What else could it be?
Federico.

Did you also remove your previous boot string? Is your IOS in a different location other than bootflash?
What is the output of the following?
show run | inc boot
and
show boot
