SVL AT A VERY LONG DISTANCE

Dear Community,

 

Can a SVL and DAD links work for a high availability connection between two switches at a distance of 200m? The switches am using are 9606 switches.

Sure. For SVL, if you are using a 10Gig or 40Gig, you just need Multimode fiber transceivers. For DAD, you can simply use 1Gig transceivers.

10Gig SFP-10G-SR

1Gig GLC-SX-MMD

Multimode transceivers can reach up to around 500 meters.
