Hi,

I have a client with a couple of 6500 with supervisor 720-2B

Now he would activate a VSS between the 6500.

The supervisor don't support VSS and the question is: is there an upgrade for the 720-3B or he must change them ?

Best Regards

Claudio

This page might answer some questions.  http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-6500-virtual-switching-system-1440/prod_qas0900aecd806ed74b.pdf

Some questions, but not the mail question: is there an upgrade for the 720-3B or my client must change them ?

You'll need to replace the sup.  The sup720 doesn't support VSS.

Also for VSS, only certain line cards are supported.

If you plan to replace your supervisor card (to support VSS), then you might as well get the Sup2T (same price).

Also you may want to look into getting your chassis replace.  Joseph might explain as long as he doesn't get into a "coughing fit".  winkwink
