No unusual circumstances, the news is a long time ago

Hi,

As the Sup module has crashed many times now and there is no crash dump been generated.

There is a silient bug for this kind of issue I cannot share it publically.

Action plan:-

========

It looks to me that the sup module is faulty. Go ahead and create the RMA for the same.

Regards

Inayath.

*Plz rate all usefull posts.

7609 router can generate crash files, but can not seem to switch 4506, or that the job you need to configure what order? If necessary, tell me what commands,  Thank you very much

Hi black,

all cisco Switches does generate the Crash info files very often. As I told in my earlier post that you are hitting the silent bug due to which the crash file didnt got generated on this switch.

The issue is related to the sup module on your switch. There is nothing much you can do other than replacing the same.

Please revert for any further clarification.

Okay, I understand. Although my problem has not yet resolved, but still very grateful to everyone for helping. Google online translation is really a good tool,

I have tried to provide you the solution. Let me know if that has not helped you?

Archiving Crashfiles Information

This feature allows you to archive crashinfo files (otherwise overwritten if another system reset were to happen first to the bootflash). Having access to archived crashinfo data greatly assists in troubleshooting.

To archive crashinfo files, perform this task:

Command

Purpose

Step 1

Switch# configure terminal

Enters global configuration mode.

Step 2

Switch(config)# exception crashinfo file bootflash:name

Enables archiving crashinfo files to bootflash. The files are stored in bootflash with the name specified concatenated with the date.

Step 3

Switch(config)# end

Returns to privileged EXEC mode.

Step 4

Switch# show running-config

Verifies your entries.

Step 5

Switch# copy running-config startup-config

(Optional) Saves your entries in the configuration file.

Displaying a Crash Dump

A crash dump provides the following information:

Malloc or free traces

Chuck alloc/free traces

Process block dump

Register memory dump

Current proc stack partial decode

Interrupt level stack

Last 128 memory block dump

To display a crash dump, do the following:

Switch# show platform crashdump
