hi,
i have a simple query.
switch by default when receives frames to unknown destination broadcast to all ports rest of the port it has received the frame.
so question here is //
assuming there are 10 ports in the switch
whether switch will copy the original frame to a 9 duplicate copies and send on 9 ports rest of the port it received
so if this is true how switch knows how many copies it has to create ?

Hi Shiva,
The switch knows how many ports are currently active minus the source port it has received this frame. So if 10 ports are active then it will flood the frame to 9 active ports
