Switch Port takes too much time from Amber to Green

Does anybody know why if i reboot or unplug-plug the ethernet cable, it takes around 30 seconds to get from Amber to Green?  Is there any way to make it almost instantanious? 

The application that i'm using cannot wait for that long, and it fails it's tests while waiting.

Hi,

   It is a forward-delay time of spanning tree. If you want to skip states of spanning tree, just try this.

Switch#conf term

Switch(conf)#interface AAAA

Switch(conf-if)#spanning-tree portfast

   AAAA is an interface connected to the server.
