recover wrong config reg on cisco 1760

Hiiiiiiiiiii Dears:-

I was use a config reg on my 1760 router that 0x20FF to boot from TFTP server .............

but not do this

and now it never boot at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

when it try to boot ........... it displsy the ASCII code unknown ............. and do no thing

What I can do to recover this problem !!!!!!!!!!!????????????????

The ASCII codes are because the different config-register changed the speed of the console port. One other thing you can try is to change your terminal emulator and try different speeds. I suggest that you set it for 1200 (the lowest speed) and work your way up (2400, etc) to find the speed that does work. Once you have the speed set to match the console speed then you may be able to solve why the router is not booting.

Note that some emulators (frequently Hyperterm) require that you stop and restart the emulator each time that you change the speed.

as the router boots, send a break from the console to enter rommon mode you can then edit the boot characteristics by entering the confreg command.

I was try this idea before

and can not enter the rommon mode at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is still stop at the screen that has the ASCII code only !!!!!!!!!!????????

thank you toooooooooooooooo much

the speed of the console port was changed to 19200 !!!!!!!!!!!

and I tested all speed till reach it

and I can access the rommon mode .......... and changed the config reg to 0x2102 (its default)

now the router come again to live
