So, I was just curious. Is there any Cisco recommended interval for starting or rebooting a switch? We've got some switches that have been up over 2 years without a fresh reboot. I know they aren't like a Windows PC, which needs a fresh reboot every once in a while to update .dlls and kernel threads, etc.

Nope. Nothing like that for Cisco or as matter of fact any network gear. They are designed to run without any scheduled reboots.

I reboot my switches 4 times a year.
Alot of network admin don't want to reboot routers and switches because they can't be certain that the appliance (and associate components and/or line cards) will come up.
