Switches Interface utilization is high during backup

Hi Experts,

I have 4 switches connected in linear manner. Servers are connected to different switches. Switches are showing high intreface utilization during AD,Exchange backup, because File server is located in different switch. Does this cause any problem to switch performance? or do i need to configure etherchannel for to avoid this problem.?

Hi,

If the high utilization is not causing any particular network problems, there's no actual need to configure etherchannel.

The best practice suggests creating a separate VLAN for the servers and place them in, on a single switch. This way you will avoid similar incidents. I know this could be a pain if it's not configured from the beginning though.

Yes Giorgos... Thats what i am thinking. It is very difficult to remove the server to new Vlan now.
