Hi all

Can anyone tell me if im correct in saying that you cannot do proper teaming with blade switches, as they are treated as seperate switches, can the server do outbound load balancing only ?

cheers

We team all our HP blade server NICs, works just fine. we only use fault tolerance feature

Carl,

You can use EtherChannel to aggregate multiple blade switches together.

We use IBM chassis and it works fine

can you explain this? As far as I know, the switches in blades are treated as 2 seperate switches?

in which case how would etherchannel work to 2 seperate switches ?

thanks

this is what we do, but as its between 2 seperate switches it will be outbound load balancing only

Carl,

The new cisco Switches (3110s) can be stacked together. They are just like the 3750s, but not possible for older chassis with older switches.

Hello, we have C7000 with CBS3120G and these are stackable. We have four switches between two chassis stacked.

NIC teaming is possible here in several scenarios--we had to experiment with LACP/PAGP to get it working correctly, but work it does.

Simon
