terminal emulators

We have a setup, where in order for me to access the customer's private network, I need to ssh into a Linux server first. Once I am on the Linux machine, I can telnet into the clients network devices. The only terminal emulator that is currently on the Linux machine is telnet, which is hard to use when performing some commands, such as "sh run", etc, since the buffer stores only the last part. Can anybody recommends a user friendly terminal emulator for a Linux client?...Thanks.
