Hi, can anyone please advise how long the data about the broadcast packets under the interface counter? the number of the broadcast is total number in 5 minutes or the total number of broadcast packets since last interface counter reset? Thanks in advance.
below is the output from the command "show interface gx/x/x "
5 minute input rate 461000 bits/sec, 84 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 197000 bits/sec, 95 packets/sec
66857837 packets input, 82513720616 bytes, 0 no buffer
Received 554315 broadcasts (316716 multicasts)
0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles
0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

Hello @Herman2018,
The counters shown in this output are cumulative and do not reset automatically. They keep increasing until a manual reset is performed or the device is restarted. If you want to monitor broadcast packets over a specific period, you'll need to keep track of the broadcast count over time or implement a monitoring solution that collects and stores these statistics periodically.
