The process platform_mgr is high on C3850

Hi,

There are many log as below on C3850.

%IOSXE-7-PLATFORM: 1 process platform_mgr: wthreadpool_handle_failure: Unresponsive thread tp = 0x55416218, idx = 0, pthread = 0x31c62490

and the CPU is high.

Core 0: CPU utilization for five seconds: 92%; one minute: 79%; five minutes: 82%
Core 1: CPU utilization for five seconds: 35%; one minute: 57%; five minutes: 55%
Core 2: CPU utilization for five seconds: 96%; one minute: 62%; five minutes: 54%
Core 3: CPU utilization for five seconds: 31%; one minute: 67%; five minutes: 56%

What is the process "platform_mgr" and why its cpu is so high ?

The version is 03.07.02E

I have the same problem occurring on my 3850 Switch Stack (8 members) running 3.7.4E.  The Onboard Failure Logging (OBFL) process along with the platform_mgr process are eating up like 80% of the CPU.  Interested to see any findings you might have.

Step 1: Identify the Process that Consumes CPU Cycles
The show process cpu command naturally displays how the CPU currently looks. Notice that the Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series Swtich uses four cores, and you see the CPU usage listed for all four cores

Step 2: Determine the CPU Queue that Causes the High CPU Usage Condition.
The Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series Switch has a number of queues that cater to different types of packets (the FED maintains 32 RX CPU queues, which are queues that go directly to the CPU). It is important to monitor these queues in order to discover which packets are punted to the CPU and which are processed by the IOSd. These queues are per ASIC.
