Trouble Removing 3750 from stack

Hi all,

I have a 3750 on my desk which I’m using for new site, I removed this from a previous stack of 4 configuration.

I ran the no switch 4 provision ws-c3750g-24ts on the stack after I powered it down and removed it. (no problems it was switch 4)

I then erased the startup config and reloaded , I went through the basic setup wizard etc and set it up, however the intefaces are still named like they were in the stack.

Ie

interface GigabitEthernet4/0/1

!

interface GigabitEthernet4/0/2

!

interface GigabitEthernet4/0/3

also switch 4 provision ws-c3750g-24ts is in the config on this switch (is this strange?)

I tried the no switch 4 provision ws-c3750g-24ts on this but the result is

SW1(config)#no switch 4 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

%Switch can not be un-provisioned when it is physically present

Its not a real problem as the switch will still work but I would like to keep it tidy?

Try "switch 4 renumber 1 ,  save and reload .

I ran switch 2 renumber 1

wr

reload

Now I see all interfaces as 1/0/.. and also 2/0/..

How can I remove the interfaces from switch 2?

use "no switch stack-member-number provision" command

Hi I head the same problem, you can use te following to fix this:

#switch 4 renumber 1

#do rw

and "reload"

If you see also 1/0/1 and 2/01 you can use the bellow command to remove 2

#no switch 2 provision
