Troubleshooting LAN/WAN problems

Hey guys,

What informations are important in a sh interface (port) command to troubleshoot a problem ?

What i have to look ? What is the normal and problematic numbers ?

There are four aspects which I would initially be aware of when troubleshooting an interface, these are as follows:

Verify that the Line and Protocol status are both UP.

Verify that the Reliability is 255/255, any thing less would indicate a physical issue.

Verify that the a LAN interface for example is operating at the correct speed and duplex.

Ensure that there are not errors occuring, such as CRC, collisions/multiple collisions, and packet drops.
