Trying to do initial setup of C9300-48UXM-E using Web GUI and I am not able to even get an IP address

I have a brand new C9300-48UXM-E.  I am following these directions:

Connecting to the Switch

Before you begin

The bootup script runs the configuration wizard, which prompts you for basic configuration input: (Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: ). To configure Day0 settings using the Web UI, do not enter a response. Perform the following tasks instead:

Procedure

Step 1

Make sure that no devices are connected to the switch

Step 2

Connect one end of an ethernet cable to one of the uplink (non-management) ports on the active supervisor and the other end of the ethernet cable to the host (PC).

Step 3

Set up your PC as a DHCP client, to obtain the IP address of the switch automatically.

It may take up to three mins. You must complete the Day0 setup through the WebUI before using the device terminal.

Step 4

Launch a Web browser on the PC and enter the device IP address (https://192.168.1.1) in the address bar.

I am not able to get an IP address.   I have tried Port 1,2, 47, and 48 with no success.   I have power cycled the switch multiple times.   I even tried setting a static IP address of 192.168.1.2 with a net mask of 255:255:255:0 and still no luck.   I am sure I am missing something, but so far I have not been able to figure it out.

Thx

Bryan

Hi Mark,

I read the article you referred to, and I tried all of the recommendations to absolutely no avall.     I also have tried this on two switches.   I don't have a smartnet contract.   I do get the Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: on the serial console, but I never receive an IP address.  I have also tried the recommended write erase without saving as suggested in one post, and that too did not seem to help.   One thought I had was to update the IOS version to the latest version, but without being able to get the device configured using just the serial console.   Is there any way to upload a new image via USB?

I am open to any other ideas as I am out.

Unfortunately, I am not experienced in using the CLI.   I have previously configured a C3750X statck using the Cisco Network Assistant.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bryan
