Hi community,
To make a long story short, I am attempting to configure a switch that I will need to deploy in one of our remote sites. ,I set it up the same as the other switches in that same remote site, so before running out to the site which is 50 miles away, I am testing at head office therefore I changed some config as seen below. (See text in bold)
My problem is, I am unable to ping or putty into switch while connecting a laptop on the same switch using Gi/1/0/1. My Laptop has the following config for testing:
10.1.38.71
255.255.255.0
10.1.38.1
I can use console cable but that defeats the purpose of testing connectivity via the LAN /IP.
The other ports are all on a diff vlans so to cut down the clutter in this post, I am only showing Gi1/0/1 for this purpose.
Can anyone please peruse over my config to see why I can not ping interface Vlan111 ip address 10.1.38.74 255.255.255.0
Once I know I can ping and connect with laptop, I will change the config (text in bold) to the appropriate IP's etc for the remote site and run it out there..
