Dear All,
We have Cisco 7609 configured on HSRP. Next IP of HSRP is given to laptop and the Gateway to the laptop is HSRP IP. We are able to ping the laptop from internet only from some location but not all over the world. Say for example the IP is reachable from India, US but not from Singapore and UK. If we trace the packet it says that packet is getting dropped at 7609. How this is possible if the laptop is directly connected interface. Please some one help us out to get rid of this issue.
Many Thanks,
Saran.

ACL? Just a guess....

could also be a routing issue. remember routing always has to work both ways.
IN the routing table of the 7600, do you have a route back to india, (to the address you are pinging from in india?)
(just treat this as any routing issue, log onto your last good hop and see where the route points from there)

additionally, what about pinging from the laptop to your remote destination in US, UK and INdia? does that work?
