how is the SVI setup HSRP ? are you trying to ping VLAN 2 SVI to VLAN 3 SVI ?

end device in VLAN2 can reach VLAN SVI - yes - and VLAN 3 yes.

Yes, SVI setup is HSRP. Trying to ping vlan 2 svi to vlan 3 svi, but RTO.

End device in vlan2 can reach vlan 2 svi. Same with vlan 3 but unable to communicate between vlan 2 and vlan 3.

See config of int vlan in CBS Switch 1

interface Vlan2
no shutdown
no ip redirects
ip address 172.22.1.2/24
no ipv6 redirects
hsrp version 2
hsrp 2
authentication md5 key-chain cbs-hsrp-key
preempt
priority 110
ip 172.22.1.1

is the VLAN across VPC or they only in respected VPC switches.

first they need to aware in the routing to reach each other ?

either it could be IGP or any static routing to be part of the rouing table.

you need to provide more information how is your routing ? which device doing the routing for intra-vlan routing VLAN 2 and VLAN3

Vlan 2 & 3 has been extended to all 4 nexus switches. No routing between the 2 svi. Communication is only via a trunk port. See below config of the port that connects the switches.

interface port-channel145
description XXX
switchport
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan 2-3

vpc 145

No routing between the 2 svi. Communication is only via a trunk port

MHM

vpc domain of switches on the left is 130 and 110 on the switches on the right.

HSRP for vlan 2 is only configure on the "CBS" switches. HSRP for vlan 3 is only configured on the "MF" switches. But L2 vlan for vlan 2 & 3 is present in all switches.

MHM

Thank you for this info. Appreciate it.

by extending the Layer2, does not mean that Layer 3 routing take place, they should have routing process to aware how to reach vlan 2 IP address to VLAN 3 IP address.

you need Layer 3 gateway for the 2 Layer 2 domain reach each other.

So I need a point to point IP and create a route on the reach so that vlan 2 and vlan 3 routing will take place?

yes that can be achieved by doing that.

MHM

CBS and MF is just our hostname for the switch. All 4 switches are Nexus 9K.
