Hi,

As per my understanding the Nexus switch will not allow you to set a specific password for the console port, this platform uses role-based access control to allow access to the switch creating different users with different privilege levels. Here is a link with extra information and configuration commands in case you need it

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/system_management/521_n1_1/b_5k_System_Mgmt_Config_521N11/b_5k_System_Mgmt_Config_521N11_chapter_0111.html

Hi Haider,

You can reference the Software Upgrade and Downgrade Guides for Nexus 5K and 7K below as they detail the procedure along with its impact
