unrecognizable characters while taking console for 3945 Router

getting unrecognised characters while taking the console. tried changing speed but no hope..

 - What operator/terminal infrastructure are you using ? Anyway use speed of 9600. If no go reboot the device and tape the space bar during the boot. Check if this helps.

am using putty , tried rebooting the device by tapping space.. no hope..

Hi,

use 9600 as baudrate. also check your console cable and usb converter if using. sometimes, converters giving this kind of issues. is same cable and converters working properly, this can be a OS corruption which you have to use RMA procedure.
