Unsupported SFP modules in IE 1000 switches

I have a new industrial ethernet IE 1000 Switch.

I am in the classic position of needing to configure the switch to use a non-cisco SFP module.  the switch software is not the classic IOS.  I need to know the equivalent commands to allow the switch to use unsupported SFP modules.  I know that TAC won't support me if I do this, I know that warranty will be affected but the Cisco branded SFP module us $650 vs. $53 dollars for a third party.

Any suggestions?

I am not positive if this is going to work for IE 1000 platform or even available but you can try this

3850(config)# no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
3850(config)# service unsupported-transceiver

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/interfaces-modules/gbics/200296-Unsupported-GBIC-SFP-in-sub-module-of.html

However, following are the supported SFPs

Cisco IE1000 series

Cisco OS Release

IE-1000-4P2S-LM
IE-1000-8P2S-LM

Please consider cisco note here.

Use Third Party SFP Modules

The use of third party SFP transceivers with Cisco devices is not supported by Cisco. Cisco-approved SFP modules have a serial EEPROM that contains the module serial number, the vendor name and ID, a unique security code, and cyclic redundancy check (CRC). When an SFP module is inserted in the switch, the switch software reads the EEPROM to verify the serial number, vendor name and vendor ID, and recomputes the security code and CRC. If the serial number, the vendor name or vendor ID, the security code, or CRC is invalid, the software generates this security error message and places the interface in an error-disabled state:

SYS-3-TRANSCEIVER_NOTAPPROVED:Transceiver on port [dec]/[dec] is not supported

I hope this helps and good luck!

The operating systems of the Industrial series don't have those commands.  The operating system is different from anything I've seen from Cisco.

Unfortunately, then there's no workaround. I didn't even find a Command Reference for IE 1000.

Figured as much.  The nice thing is that I will be able to save a lot of money by not buying anymore Cisco products.  So that's a good thing.
