Hi,

I have a 2620XM with (obviously) one FastEthernet interface. However, I'd like to setup a bridging firewall and will need two FastEthernet interfaces for that. What is the best way to upgrade the router? Which module would be the best for coupling with the existing one for bridging purposes?

Thanks,

Andrey

Hi,

You need to look at a NM-1FE2W as Cisco have stopped making the NM-1FE dedicated modules.

This module requires 12.2(8)T as the minimum IOS version and 32 MB DRAM, the IOS also supports bridging

Rather than vesting on a network module worth 1500-2000 dollars, i would suggest trading in the Cisco 2620 and get a 2801 or 2811. It will come upto the same price..

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to get a NM-1FE. It looks like I can get it from eBay for $200. This is a low budget project.
