upgrade 4507R+E IOS-XE not boot new ios

Hi,

We are upgrading our core 4507R+E switch with 2 sup 7L-E from version 3.5.3E to 3.6.5E

we copied the new ios to both bootflash and slave bootflash . and we didn't delete the old ios

We configure the boot command to boot from the new ios but it fail

ROMMON version is 15.0(1r)SG10

Config register is 0x2102

We think now to delete the old ios and test with the new ios only on flash

Please help if it is ok or there is a better method. also do we need to upgrade ROMMON version to latest 15.0(1r)SG14 ? but 3.6.5 isn't latest [it is the cisco suggested one]

Thanks

No, it's a dangerous method.  If you delete the old IOS and the new IOS is corrupt, the switch will boot into ROMmon.

Console into the switch and reboot.  I want to see why the new IOS isn't being loaded.

Also post the output to the command "dir".
