upgrade path for WS-X45-SUP7L-E from 3.05.01 to 3.11.4E

I have two switches WS-X45-SUP7L-E on WS-C4507R+E atm on version 3.05.01 and I need to upgrade to 3.11.4E . my rommon is 15.0(1r)SG3 which I believe I need to upgrade to 15.0(1r)SG10 but can I go directly from 3.05.01 to 3.11.4E? will it affect my VSS or my BGP config?

I'm already aware of the 15.0(1r)SG10 upgrade requirement but there is no mention if i can jump from 3.05.01 to 3.11.4E?

You can jump directly from 3.05.01 to 3.11.4E. Just make sure your Roomon version is up to date.

Yes you can just make sure to go through the release notes as there are some major changes. one being if you are using TACACS or RADIUS you will need to modify it before upgrade so that you don't loose access to switch.

1.  But why upgrade TO 15.0(1r)SG10?  Upgrade straight to 15.0(1r)SG16 instead. 

2.  Direct upgrade to 3.11.X is possible as long as the ROMMON gets upgraded first.   Read THIS.
