Hello,
I'm working on my Cisco studies, mainly CCNA, then CCNP and I've been looking at some used switches. I've been looking at used 3750's, because these are the type that they use at my job, so I thought maybe getting to know them is not a bad idea if I want to move up.
I came across a few cheap 3750 PS-S, but I notice on Cisco's site, it says Upgradable IP Base Layer 3
I would like to practice L3 switching, but I'm not sure what it means upgradable ip base layer 3. I figured it's some kind of licensing thing, but how do I license a used switch off of ebay?
I'm new to all this ebay stuff too, which makes it very tough.

HI,
There are basically 3 types of licensees for the 3750 series. 1-Lan Base 2-IP Base 3-IP Servised.
Lan Base is very limited to just layer-3
IP Base is layer-2 and some layer-3 including static route, EIGRP Stub, etc...
IP services gives you all of the above and in addition full dynamic routing capacities including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VRF Lite, PBR, etc
On getting the license;:

Thanks for the info.
Does this apply to all 3750's or just the V2 ones??
