Upgrading 4506e

Dear All,

we are planning to upgrade IOS of our 4506e switch from

cat4500-ipbase-mz.122-40.SG.bin to

cat4500-ipbase-mz.122-53.SG8.bin

We usually upgrade normal catalyst switches like 2960, but never upgraded the 4506e.

The procedure will be same for this?? and what precautions do we need to take while the upgradation?

Hi Vishal,

THere is not such any specific change in upgrading the software on this device.

To be on a safer side make sure you have the config backup before doing the software upgrade.
