No, once the license is enabled, it applies to any new image you install

What do you mean with "it applies to any new image you install"?
Are minor release upgrade permitted? example 15.0 to 15.1 or to 15.2?

I believe the license is kept in a separate file so it knows what features to load on the new code. Unless you changed the license is should be the same.

Unlike the older ISR, the new ISR G2s have a "license" file. As you also can see the IOS are all "universal". Just like proggies nowadays, you just download one file and apply the license key to enable which feature set you want. Now this license key generates a file which is kept in in a different place. So you can upgrade the IOS to whatever version you want and the license file is un-changed.
