Upgrading Cisco IOS Switches

Hi,

I need to upgrade all my organisations switches to the latest stable IOS and create a template for all switches.

Is there any project plan that I can follow or anyone that has upgraded IOS switches what is the best way without messing it all up!

Depending on the model of switches ...

1.  Download the correct IOS.  Choose the one with the TAR file extension;

2.  Command is:  archive download-sw tftp:///filename.tar

If you have a stacked switch, then the command is:  archive download-sw /dest   tftp:///filename.tar

Why choose BIN file alone?

If you have 2960S and 3750, it's can get pretty "touchy" if you upgrade the BIN file only.

I dont manage switches through web interface.

I have alot of switches to upgrade and create a standard so I just need some advice on best way to tackle this.
