USB 3.0 is mandatory on a Catayst 9300?

Hello team,

Does anyone know if this USB 3.0 is mandatory on a Catayst 9300 switch? In my case, these switches will not handle any hosted application, so I don't see much use for them and I see that price is somewhat considerable... But does anyone know if this has any other function that mandates that I have to buy it?

There was a promo last year that for every switch that came with ThousandEyes license included a free SSD-128G.  

Eventually, the 128 Gb SSD ran out so they automatically upgraded them to a 240 Gb SSD.
