Hi all
Can anyone tell me what the usb ports are used for on the supervisor cards?
I want to back up my file system, can I use a USB stick in the USB port to do this ? or are they for console use ?
cheers

Hi Carl,
One of the uses of the USB port on Cisco router is to connect external USB Flash memory.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/2800/hardware/notes/mithril.html
Its also used to connect USB eToken

What type of Sup do you have? The USB port does not work on Sup-720-VS

Carl,
USB will never be supported on Sup32 and Sup720. USB support starts fro Sup2T.
NOTE: Don't a$k why. You don't want to know.
The other way to save the config is to use Cisco or supported third-party CF.
