User based bandwidth limitation on cisco 2950 switch

Dear friends,

I have a cisco 2950 switch, connected with 4Mbps of internet and number of users will access the internet.

There is no restraction on bandwidth limit for users, if any body use high download the remaining users are facing the

slow browsing problems.

So, if i can put a bandwidth limitation for every users the problem will be solved.

plz guide me how to restract the bandwidth on user bases.

Not possible with a 2950.

well, to manage the bandwidth U have to use some "bandwidth management" application to restrict traffic.

Try IPcop or google bandwidth management for the windows platform, there are lot of more free appliction on internet u may download & try.

wouldn't storm-control be a creative way to achieve this on a access port basis ?

I would add a Lynksys router in front, is cheap and Tomato firmware is doing quite a good job for QOS. Web interface, easy of configuration, a lot of features.
