Using the "IP address dhcp client-id" Command

Hi everyone

I want to upgrade an 8 port 2960cx and I was told instead of me assigning a static IP to my laptop I could use these commands to get an IP on the switch so that I can upgrade the IOS

Vlan 2
 name Data

interface Vlan2
 ip address dhcp client-id Switch

int Gix/x
 sw trunk encap dot1q
 sw mode trunk

My question is where the word Switch is do I put the interface of the switch I want to configure or the interface of the switch that's going to give me the dhcp ip address.

what are you trying to accomplish, to have a DHCP assigned address provided to your laptop with the switch being the DHCP server ?
