vlan is not showing in spann-tree

Hi all,

I created vlan 600 both ways<,vlan database & thru conf t on 3750>>

vlan is showing up on layer II<<sh vlan>>

however, it's showing up/down on layer III

when I did sh span  sum, active, det...it's not showing at all,

All other VLANs are up/up....

!

Can anyone expalin this buzzle?

assign a port to the vlan.

Hi Mohammed,

Here is bit information on this:

Once you define the vlan you need to define one of the interface to be part of that vlan to bring that vlan up. Else it will show as down. Or the best way is to have one of the port as trunk port which is up as by default all the vlans are allowed by default on that port which brings the vlan up.

And also make sure that vlan does exist in the vlan database.
