VLAN Printer Issue

TyIT

I have ran into a printer issue on one of my VLANs. I have new printers I am trying to put on a printer VLAN(VLAN 320) I created. This Printer VLAN currently has active printers on it with no issues. The VLAN is not full and it doesn't have a ACL on it. The printer will not pull a IP address, if it does it will not pull the GW. I have tried to statically assign the printer(multiple) and I can still not reach the printer. When I move this printer to any other VLAN it works just fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi

If you compare the port config between working and not working vlan, they have the same config?

The port shoudl look like:

int GX/X

switch port mode access

switch access vlan 320

At least this config must be present.  So, try to joing the print with this config and see the DHCP.

Hello

Make sure the access port the printer is attached has stp portfast applied, Has negotiated the correct speed/duplex settings and you have no port security applied.
Try a
ttaching a pc to the same port and vlan and see if you obtained an dhcp allocation.

Check port secuirty, may be the mac of old printer is stick to this port.

Hello,

If the printer is in another building or on another switch make sure that VLAN is trunked all the way to the switch you are connecting to for allowing L2 connectivity.
