Vlan traffic bandwidth restriction

Hi All

Looking for some guidance on restricting bandwidth on a per vlan basis on either 3750 or 3560 switch.

We are soon going to have 8 vlans that are Layer 2 only and different contractors connected to each vlan.

From the switch we will have an uplink to an ASA and from there a connection to the internet.

We need to provide each contractor/vlan with bandwidth ranging from 256k to 2mb (bi directional) as they are going to pay for the bandwidth.

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

You could use an aggregate policer on the 3750.  Each physical port that participates in the VLAN could be a participant of the aggregate policer; therefore the total bandwidth of all ports would never exceed the configured rate.

An easier approach may be to install a rate-limit on the ASA that matches the contractor netblock.
